Mmmm\u2026it\u2019s so delicious and filling (and also a favorite of vegetarians)!<\/p>\n

Middle Eastern Vegetarian Wrap <\/p>\n
You don\u2019t have to be a vegetarian for this sandwich to \u201cwow\u201d your taste buds. Take a warm pita, stuff it with tabbouleh, feta cheese, tomatoes, lettuce, and red onion and lots of fresh herbs. Top it off with a drizzle of tzatziki and hot sauce and you\u2019ve got the tastiest veggie wrap in town. <\/p>\n

The Chicken Souvlaki Sandwich <\/p>\n
Chicken tenderloins marinated in olive oil, spices, and lemon juice is grilled to perfection. Next, it\u2019s sliced and stuffed into warm pita bread, then topped with tzatziki, tomato, onion, lettuce, and fresh dill. Finally, it\u2019s served tightly wrapped in parchment paper to keep all of that good stuff in. (And you thought only the Greeks could make a sandwich this good.)<\/p>\n

Zaatar Sandwich<\/p>\n
Zaatar is a Middle Eastern spice mix made with sumac, thyme and sesame seeds. The spice is blended together with a little olive oil to make a paste that\u2019s then spread over flatbread dough. Finally, it\u2019s put in the oven and baked like a pizza. Usually eaten for breakfast, you can get it still warm from the oven at many neighborhood bakeries all over Amman.<\/p>\n

Middle Eastern Chicken Shawarma<\/p>\n
The king of all Middle Eastern wraps has got to be shawarma. Long before Tony Stark mentioned it in The Avengers, you could find a shawarma shop (or two, or three) on nearly every street in Amman. Unlike the rest of the world, Jordan doesn\u2019t fool around with adding tomatoes, cucumbers, pickles, onions and the like. No siree, Bob. In Jordan, it\u2019s an abundance of thinly-sliced pieces of marinated, roasted chicken wrapped in a pita slathered in a creamy garlic sauce. That\u2019s it. (And that\u2019s all you\u2019ll need.) The wrap is then lightly grilled and cut into bite-sized pieces, and served with fries and pickles on the side. One bite and you\u2019ll know why it\u2019s a sandwich fit for a king (and Iron Man).<\/p>\n
