Before we start with the shapes of the letter /Khaa’/, we need to demonstrate an important note that states that the letter Khaa’ can connect itself from both sides unlike the letter Alif which can only connect itself from the right side. Also, remember that there are some Arabic letters that can only be connected from the right side as in the table below in the first group, and the rest from both sides as in the 2nd group.

As in:   نخلة    /nakhlah/   which means Palm Tree.

                  

     2) While not being connected (خـ):

As in:  باخرة    /baakhirah/   which means Steamship.

                          

3.     Final: 1) While being connected (ـخ):

    As in:      بطيخ /baTeekh/     which means Water Melon.

                               

           2) While not being connected (خ):

    As in:     صاروخ     /Saaroukh/   which means Rocket.

 

Another note is that the letter Khaa’ can always be connected from both sides unless preceded by a letter from the first group. So, whether it comes in the middle of the word or at the end, it is possible to disconnect itself if the letters belonging to the first group precede it.
