1. Khalini Khabrak by Souriali (Syrian Arabic)

Hosted by two Syrians named Taysir and Ghalia, Khalini Khabrak, or “Let Me Inform You”, is an entertaining Arabic podcast that enlightens listeners on the origins and meanings of various Syrian proverbs and expressions through the art of storytelling. There are a total of 45 tracks that let you discover the meanings behind the colorful expressions in Syrian dialect.


2. Mosalsal Sauman Maqbulan (Palestinian Arabic)

Produced by Palestine’s Youth, the Gaza-based Alwan Radio show Sauman Maqbulan (“May Your Fast Be Accepted”) is a 14-episode Ramadan series that is only four minutes long (excluding the two-minute title song that is played at the beginning of each episode). The series is made up of stories that highlight the various bad behaviors that take place in Ramadan. However, they do it in a lighthearted and comedic manner. If you’re studying the Palestinian dialect, then this is the series for you.


3. 7 Minutes Motivation (Lebanese Arabic)

Samer Chidiac is the Lebanese host of 7 Minutes Motivation, an Arabic podcast based in Beirut. Samer created his podcast with some friends so that he could provide his listeners with something that could help get them through the week. As the title suggests, every episode is only 7 minutes long with a total of 24 episodes in the series. Not only will you benefit from learning the Lebanese dialect from a native speaker, but you’ll also be motivated. And if you feel 7 minutes isn’t enough, listen to it twice to strengthen your listening comprehension.  


4. Leish La2 by JBC Radio 88.7 FM (Jordanian Arabic)

Leish La2 or “Why Not?” is a morning Arabic radio program produced by JBC Radio. It covers a variety of topics with listeners often calling in and sharing their thoughts on the topic of the day. Available on YouTube, be sure to browse through the various topics. Find as many as you can to keep you engaged in learning the Jordanian dialect.


5. DLIFLC Phone Conversations

The Defense Language Institute Foreign Language Center (DLIFC) has been around seemingly forever. It is as a website that gives you access to oodles of phone conversations in Levantine Arabic for free. And it’s not some boring conversations about the weather, either, as you can pick for a wide variety of topics. The topics’ themes are like “Daily Life” and “Shopping” which uses everyday Arabic you can actually use. Though there are no transcripts for the conversations and the conversations are designed more for intermediate Arabic listening, beginners can still benefit from this resource. They can listen to only the first 30 seconds of the call to get numerous greetings.
