Is a negation tool for nouns and adjectives

it must be conjugated according to the corresponding pronouns

Conjugation:

لَسْتُ

/lastu/

I am not

لَسْنا

/lasnaa/

We are not

Conjugation:

لَسْتَ

/lasta/

You are not (Masculine)

لَسْتِ

/lasti/

You are not (Feminine)

Conjugation:

لَيْسَ

/laysa/

لَسْتُمْ

You are not (Plural)

لَيْسوا

Example:

هِيَ لَيْسَتْ سارَةَ

/hiya laysat saarata/

Is a negation tool for adjectives

As in

غَيْرُ جَيِّدٍ

/ghayru jayyidin/

Not good

غَيْرُ كافٍ

/ghayru kaafin/

Means

Not enough

لَمْ

/lam/

Is used to express an action that did not happen in the past.

The used verb has the form of present tense

As in

لَمْ أَذْهَبْ إِلى السُّوقِ

/lam ʼaTHhab ʼilaa issooqi/

I did not go to the market

Examples:

لَمْ أَتَناوَلْ الفُطورَ

/lam ʼatanaawal ilfuToora/

I did not have breakfast

لَمْ أُقابِلْ صَديقي

/lam ʼuqaabil Sadeeqee/

I did not meet my friend

Is a negation tool for present tense for habits and dislikes

لا أَشْرَبُ القَهْوَةَ

/laa ʼashrabu ilqahwata/

I do not drink coffee

Examples:

لا أُمارِسُ الرِّياضَةَ

/laa ʼumaarisu irryaadhata/

I do not work out

لا أَتَكَلَّمُ العَرَبِيَّةَ

/laa ʼatakallamu ilʻarabiyyata/

I do not speak Arabic

Is a negation tool for future tense

Examples:

لَنْ نَذْهَبَ

We will not go

لَنْ أُمارِسَ
