In Arabic subject pronouns show who is doing the action in a sentence.

أَنا

/ʼanaa/

Means

I/ I am

As in

أَنا فَرَحُ

/ʼanaa faraHu/

I am Farah

نَحْنُ

/naHnu/

Means

We/ We are

As in

نَحْنُ نُحِبُّ العَرَبِيَّةَ

/naHnu nuHibbu ilʻarabiyyata/

We love Arabic

نَحْنُ

Is used for dual and plural

As in

نَحْنُ سامي وَ كَريمُ

/naHnu saamee wa kareemu/

We are Sami and Kareem

Examples:

أَنا ذَهَبْتُ

/ʼanaa THahabtu/

I went

نَحْنُ فَرَحُ وَ سامي

/naHnu faraHu wa saamee/

We are Farah and Sami

 

أَنْتَ

/ʼanta/

Means

You/ You are (Masculine/ Singular)

As in

أَنْتَ لَطيفٌ

/ʼanta laTeefun/

You are kind

أَنْتِ

/ʼanti/

Means

You/ You are (Feminine/ Singular)

As in

أَنْتِ جَميلَةٌ

/ʼanti jameelatun/

You are beautiful

أَنْتُما

/ʼantumaa/

Means

You/ You are (Dual/ Feminine and Masculine)

As in

أَنْتُما فَرَحُ وَ كَريمُ

/ʼantumaa faraHu wa kareemu/

You are Farah and Kareem

أَنْتُمْ

/ʼantum/

Means

You/ You are (Masculine/ Plural)

As in

أَنْتُمْ لَطيفونَ

/ʼantum laTeefoona/

You are kind

أَنْتُنَّ

You/ You are (Feminine/ Plural)

As in

أَنْتُنَّ لَطيفاتٌ

هُما لَطيفانِ

They are kind (Dual masculine)

They are kind (Dual feminine)

هُنَّ

/hunna/

Means

They/ They are

(Feminine/ Plural)

As in

هُنَّ لَطيفاتٌ

They are kind

 

هُمْ

/hum/

Means

They/ They are

(Masculine/ Plural)

As in

هُمْ يُحِبُّونَ العَرَبِيَّةَ

/hum yuHibboona ilʻarabiyyata/

They love Arabic
